RRT has served about 400 meals to support firefighters battling the Milsons Gully Fire in the Goulburn River National Park in the Upper Hunter.

The blaze has burnt through more than 11,000 hectares and was upgraded to an emergency during Saturday’s extreme conditions, but it is now being controlled.

Volunteers from RRT Tamworth have served breakfast, lunch and dinner to the emergency responders who have been working hard to slow the spread. 30 volunteers have given their time to ensure the emergency services are well-fed and able to keep fighting.

“The Rural Fire Service has been working incredibly hard in dangerous conditions on this fire front over the weekend, and RRT has been happy to be able to support,” said Scott.

Volunteers have spent three days serving breakfast, lunch and dinner as well as refreshments to ensure they had the fuel in the tank they needed to keep going. RRT is standing by to support the RFS as the hot and dry conditions continue.
