On June 10, Stonewall received more than 250 mm of rainfall, causing widespread flooding throughout the community and impacting numerous homes.

By June 12, attention shifted to a dike northeast of Stonewall that was at risk of failure, threatening further flooding and damage to nearby properties. Thanks to the efforts of EMS personnel, firefighters, and more than 300 volunteers who worked tirelessly to reinforce the area, homes were better protected against additional flooding.

Rapid Relief Team CA was honoured to support these efforts by assisting with sandbagging operations and serving supper to the volunteers working on site. We are grateful for the dedication and commitment of everyone who came together to protect their community during this challenging time.
