Following the extremely hot weather from December to early January, over 100 volunteers from across NSW have served more than 1,300 meals to emergency crews, helping to keep firefighters fed and energised as they battled two recent blazes.

A bushfire lit in Attunga State Forest and grew to 160ha. Tamworth volunteers received a call from NSW Fire and Rescue, and within two hours were onsite and served 890 meals to teams on the frontline,

Bathurst and Lithgow volunteers also served 450 meals over 3 days to fire fighters, serving them breakfast, lunch and dinner around the clock.

Thank you to all our dedicated volunteers, for your rapid response, often at short notice, and for spending your New Years and holidays to support our first responders.
