The Rapid Relief Team (RRT) has provided hundreds of meals to cadets, trainers and volunteers at the annual PCYC Emergency Services Cadet Games.

Held at Redcliffe Showgrounds, the event saw cadets taking part in a range of challenges aimed at building teamwork and leadership skills, as well as their confidence.

Local Team Leader Dave Parker said RRT volunteers from Caboolture served around 400 Signature Burgers, brownies, soft drinks and water throughout the day.

“One of RRT’s priorities is supporting our emergency services – those who are currently on the frontline as well as the next generation,” said Dave.

“That is why we are so pleased to have been supporting the PCYC Cadet Games for many years now.

“It is a wonderful annual event that helps these young people develop their skills, build resilience and create strong bonds with their fellow cadets.”

The PCYC Emergency Services Cadets Program is a Queensland Fire and Emergency Services initiative run by volunteers.

As the charitable arm of the Plymouth Brethren Christian Church, RRT supports frontline workers and emergency services by providing food, donations and other resources, as well as hosting events for the community. These efforts reflect the Plymouth Brethren values, which emphasise service, generosity and supporting communities through practical action.

Established in 2013 to assist emergency services in times of disaster and crisis by providing meals and other support, it’s expanded to more than 16,500 volunteers and provides support to the community through charitable donations and events.
