Multiple Queensland Fire and Emergency Services (QFES) crews assisted Queensland Parks and Wildlife Service (QPWS) and HQPlantations when a bushfire broke out Wednesday 21st August at the northern end of Bribie Island. Firefighters worked for several days to contain the blaze.

The Rapid Relief Team of Caboolture were only too pleased to help out the hard-working firefighters by providing meals over the five days following starting from dinner Thursday night through to Dinner Monday evening.

The planned burn at Bribie Island jumped containment lines, forcing the evacuation of campers, and crews from QFES and the Queensland Parks and Wildlife Service (QPWS) worked to contain it.
The fires tore through campsites on Wednesday and Thursday and were contained on Friday with crews monitoring it throughout the weekend.
