On Saturday 6th July, Nottingham RRT served over 1000 burger meals and 1300 hot drinks free of charge to all doctors, nurses, ward staff and volunteers on site at Queen’s Medical Centre in Nottingham.

 

RRT volunteers also took turns to deliver food and drink to hard working staff inside the hospital who were unable to leave their posts.

About Queen’s Medical Centre

The Queen’s Medical Centre (QMC) and City Hospital campuses provide specialist services to 2.5 million people within Nottingham and surrounding communities as well as specialist services for a further 3-4 million people from across the region.

The City Hospital serves as the regional centre for cancer care, nephrology, infectious diseases, cardiology, cardiothoracic surgery and burns; and is a national centre for shoulder surgery. It also serves as a hyperacute stroke unit and respiratory medicine unit for Nottingham.

The hospital has significant roles in teaching and research, in association with the University of Nottingham. Research interests include rheumatology, stroke, respiratory medicine and oncology. Medical students from the University of Nottingham Medical School are attached to most of the departments as part of their clinical training.
