Support in Action: Honouring Our Emergency Services
On October 9th, volunteers from the Rapid Relief Team (RRT) worked hard to serve bacon rolls and burger meals to Avon & Somerset Police during their JESIP training course. RRT has consistently partnered with the police to provide support.
Avon and Somerset Police serve the communities of Bristol, Bath, Somerset, and South Gloucestershire, focusing on keeping people safe and preventing crime while building connections with residents. They prioritise trust and collaboration with the community to address various issues. Committed to transparency, they utilise innovative approaches to enhance safety for everyone.
The JESIP training course is a one-day program for control room staff and commanders. It featured multi-agency training exercises involving fire, ambulance, police, military, and volunteer organisations. The day was demanding and focused on improving communication and collaboration during major incidents.
The Rapid Relief volunteers set up their red tent and grilled 100 burgers and bacon rolls for the attendees, ensuring everyone was fed and refreshed for their training course. RRT is dedicated to reminding these emergency services how much we value their hard work and commitment. Attendees gathered to share conversations and connect, fostering a strong sense of community.
A special thank you to our hardworking volunteers for taking the time to serve the emergency services that do so much for the community.
