Supporting the fight against hunger in primary school children, ensuring that no child’s education is hindered by hunger, and unlocking their full potential to learn.
Since the first COVID-19 lockdown, there has been an increase in reports stating that particularly young children are attending school with a lack of access to nutritional food. A recent study suggests that 32% of children skip breakfast before school. However, a young child must be fed before starting their educational day, because the effects of no breakfast mean that a child has a lack of fibre, calcium and other important nutrients.
RRT’s Smart Cereal Bar initiative aims to assist in the fight against hunger in primary school-aged children and to ensure hunger isn’t a barrier to education for children who would otherwise go without, releasing children’s potential to learn. The Smart Cereal Bar is wholesome and vegan, with no artificial colour or flavouring, for children on the go- helping to build bright futures for youth across the UK.
