RRT Luton Supports International Nurses Day Bedford Hospital and Across the UK

Posted: May 15, 2025

To celebrate International Nurses Day, the RRT served 2,300 hot meals to staff at Bedford Hospital and Luton & Dunstable University Hospital—a gesture of appreciation for their tireless dedication to patient care.

65 from RRT set up tents outside both hospitals, serving their signature burger meals and refreshments to nurses and hospital workers. The events were part of a global initiative in which RRT served over 41,000 meals across eight countries, supported by 1,200+ volunteers.

In the UK, RRT delivered 4,150 meals at six hospitals with the help of 123 volunteers, putting their mission of compassion in action into practice.

“It was great to be on site to show our appreciation for the nurses’ tireless work,” said Damon Cantley, RRT Event Organiser. “Their resilience and compassion inspire us, and this is just one way we can say thank you.”
