UK – Cavendish Lodge Hostel March/April 2015
A cold night meant that the cold-weather beds were full at Cavendish Lodge on 2nd March so a hot breakfast provided by RRT was much appreciated. By evening, word had spread and over 30 homeless people turned up for another hot meal and also sustenance bags. Some were keen to write some comments down in appreciation:
‘Nice to have a hot meal, relax and listen to some music. Pleasant and friendly people’
‘Thank you very much you considerate people for taking your time to feed us up. Forever grateful’
‘Music was great and the food was a good accompaniment to the music. Can’t say enough all round, all was superb’
One of the homeless told the RRT that he hadn’t felt full like that after a meal for at least a month.
RRT Aldeburgh revisited Cavendish Lodge on the 23rd March. As previously, word spread quickly; 30 homeless people turned up for another hot meal. A band livened up the evening with many old and new favourites being played.
On 16th April the RRT were back again! Appreciation was again evident in the faces of these homeless individuals for the meal and hygiene packs provided and one person commented as follows:
‘Thank you to all of you for laying on such a nice spread!! Where would we be in this world without ‘love.’ God bless to you all, just a shame it’s always the Christians out there who seem to do all the good things. “Jesus” died for us all and is our Saviour. Thanks again JB’
We enjoyed the opportunity to help out those who are not as favoured as most who would read this blog; we feel compelled to help again and will do so soon.
