On Saturday the 5th of December 2015, 13 members from the Melbourne RRT supported Operation Stitches with 250 freshly cooked hamburgers and drinks at the Collingwood public housing high-rise towers; many young children and young adults attended a day full of amusement rides, games and competitions.

To add some cheer to the air, a live RRT Band came along as well; the band of young RRT members, ranging from 20-25 years of age, played some hearty tunes while all enjoyed the beautiful burgers!

Operation Stitches is a non-profit charity whose mission is to be a voice of hope through presenting positive life choices of personal responsibility and community values to disadvantaged inner-city kids growing up on Melbourne’s public housing estates.

Children who reside on Melbourne’s inner-city public housing estates are mostly disadvantaged by their poor economic living conditions – this means that they do not celebrate or receive any Christmas gifts at all.

RRT Melbourne were stoked to help achieve the Event organisers goal of “putting a SMILE on every young child/adults face” by providing a free meal, music and being part of an awesome day!

RRT is looking forward to working with Operation Stitches and many other charities helping those in need in the future.
