On Saturday the 17th of October Rapid Relief Team joined the Wesley Mission for their ‘Walk Against Poverty’ event. This was the last day of the National Anti-Poverty Week and so the event held at Sandgate was the perfect finish to this awareness raising campaign for Wesley Mission.

Poverty effects approximately 2.5 million in Australia, and over 1.3 billion live in extreme poverty conditions worldwide. It is important that we all know and understand the magnitude and impact it has on humanity worldwide (particularly children) so that we understand the need to do our bit.

RRT were proud to take part in this event by providing water stations along the 6km round trip. All who participated did a fantastic job, we look forward to being a part of the team again in 2016 to help raise awareness in the fight against poverty.
