RRT Serves 1,200 Meals to VIC Firies During Bushfire in Trawool
The Rapid Relief Team has answered a call for support as firefighters battled an out-of-control bushfire at Trawool in Central Victoria, which threated dozens of homes.
The fast moving blaze broke out in hot and wind conditions near the Goulburn Valley Highway south of Seymour mid-last week.
RRT volunteers were stationed at Trawool Country Fire Authority (CFA) for three days serving breakfast, lunch and dinner to frontline crews.
Volunteers served 1,200 meals to CFA crews, water-bombing pilots and Department of Energy, Environment and Climate Action (DEECA) workers.

“It has been a seriously difficult time for residents across Victoria at the moment, battling one fire after another and it’s affecting their livelihoods. While it was a relief no properties were lost in this fire, it was a close call – and RRT gives thanks to the frontline workers who have really been put through a tough time this summer.”

RRT has been highly active in Victoria during this bushfire season and will be hosting a Farmers Community Connect event in Ruffy this week.
Our volunteers look forward to hosting the Farmers Community Connect event in Ruffy, where fencing wire donations and community support will be provided to farmers impacted by recent fires. The Farmers Community Connect event will be held on Thursday 25 February.
