The arduous fight against cancer has just been made a little easier for sufferers and carers in the Albury Wodonga area. An impressive new cancer centre is now in operation and bringing state of the art facilities to this thriving regional area. It will be a huge help to those who previously had to travel to many different locations to receive the treatment they needed. It was a great privilege to be able to help out at the pre-opening event of this facility on the 27th of August 2016.

The New State of the Art Hospital to Fight Cancer RRT Were Priviledged to Provide a Fundraising Lunch for the Event

Many sponsors and patients were scheduled to have a tour of the building and it was a prime opportunity to raise some funds for the ongoing needs of the hospital. Although the government has generously funded this $65 million project, the ongoing costs of running such a mammoth operation are huge and funds are always needed. RRT was only too glad to lend a helping hand towards this worthy cause.

The RRT Helped to Encourage Donations and Financial Support for the New Hospital

Most of us have been touched in some way by cancer and know only too well how a dreary setting can make it seem almost unbearable. The open, bright decor and cheery staff make the atmosphere of this centre so pleasant. The designers have thought of everything they can to increase the comfort of the patient. Coupled with the aesthetic appeal is a world class standard of practice where the patient feels assured that even though they are situated in a regional place, they are receiving the benefits of the very latest global advances in research and technology, all under one roof.

It was with great pleasure that RRT was able to raise just under $1500 in the sale of sausage sizzles, soup and hot drinks to help fund this enormous commitment to progress in the field of cancer. To have such a resource here in Albury will be a great asset to the community and RRT looks forward to supporting it in whatever way we can.
