Rapid Relief Team (RRT) volunteers have braved the cold winter nights alongside thousands of business, community and government leaders to support the Vinnies CEO Sleepout 2026.

Participants in the annual event sleep outdoors for a night to raise funds to support Australians experiencing homelessness.

RRT will serve 1,740 meals at Sleepouts across Australia, everything from hot soup at nighttime, to freshly grilled bacon and egg rolls and barista-brewed coffee in the morning.

RRT Operations Manager Michael Dunn said volunteers from RRT teams in Melbourne, Nambour, Brisbane, Launceston, Hobart, Adelaide, Sydney, Perth will be pitching in to support.

“So many Australians find themselves sleeping rough and we all have to work together to help try to break the cycle – that’s why RRT loves to support the Vinnies CEO Sleepout each year,” said Michael.

“Our volunteers will be rugging up warm to ensure those who are taking part in the Sleepout have a warm refreshment or meal to make those low temperatures a little more bearable.

“RRT will be serving more than 1,700 meals across the country supporting the CEO Sleepout this year.”

As the charitable arm of the Plymouth Brethren Christian Church, RRT supports frontline workers and emergency services by providing food, donations and other resources, as well as hosting events for the community.

Established in 2013 to assist emergency services in times of disaster and crisis by providing meals and other support, it’s expanded to more than 16,500 volunteers and provides support to the community through charitable donations and events.
