The Rapid Relief Team (RRT) has fired up the barbecue to support the Riverina Medical & Dental Aboriginal Corporation as it hosted a NAIDOC Week celebration for the community.

RRT provided a free sausage sizzle at the RivMed Community NAIDOC Day at Wagga Showgrounds, alongside live entertainment and music, cultural displays and interactive stalls.

RRT Local Team Leader Logan Wallace said it was a great day for the community.

“Rapid Relief Team was pleased to support RivMed as they hosted their NAIDOC Week celebration,” said Logan.

“Our volunteers cooked up hundreds of sausage sandwiches and enjoyed the displays of Indigenous dance, music and culture.

“RRT loves being a part of the Wagga Wagga community – and we hope everyone had a wonderful NAIDOC Week.”

NAIDOC Week is a national celebration recognising the history, culture and achievements of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people.

As the charitable arm of the Plymouth Brethren Christian Church, RRT supports frontline workers and emergency services by providing food, donations and other resources, as well as hosting events for the community. These efforts reflect the Plymouth Brethren values, which emphasise service, generosity and caring for communities through practical action.

Established in 2013 to assist emergency services in times of disaster and crisis by providing meals and other support, it’s expanded to more than 16,500 volunteers and provides support to the community through charitable donations and events.
