RRT was on the ground in the Mid North Coast and the Hunter, as they provided support to the State Emergency Service (SES) as it responded to the flooding emergency.

Local Team Leader Gary Clayton said RRT volunteers in Maitland were called up by the SES on Monday and moved quickly.

“As soon as we got the call from the SES, we mobilised straight away in order to provide daily meals to emergency responders in the region. So far this week we have delivered more than 300 meals, including lunch, dinner, and snacks for Maitland SES crews."

The SES and other emergency workers have got a tough job ahead of them as the rain keeps falling, so RRT will be there to provide them with the meals they need to keep them energised. RRT will be on the ground over the weekend in the Maitland region as the flood response continues and other teams are on standby to provide support in Dungog, Paterson and Taree if needed, as soon as accessibility improves.

A semi-trailer is being delivered from Brisbane to Maitland to support, loaded up with RRT water bottles, Frontline Snack Packs, and BBQ, coffee and fridge PODs.
