RRT Volunteers Support Ayshire Hospice Winter Fair
Volunteers from RRT worked alongside stall holders, charity workers, musicians and performers, reindeer and elves, in support of the Ayrshire Hospice Winter Fair on the 13th of November.
Ayrshire Hospice provide palliative care to individuals with life-limiting illness and support patients and families in the local community. The charity is partially funded by the NHS but has a daily running cost of a reported £21,000 and is about to embark on a £13M+ project to build a new hospice facility, so this charitable event is vital income stream for this fantastic organisation.
The Winter Fair, held at Ayr Racecourse, is a key day for the charity and the people of Ayrshire, and RRT were delighted to support, with free catering for all with over 1,400 free gourmet burger meals and hot and cold drinks served by 50 RRT volunteers from West of Scotland, raising £1507.41 in kind donations from the public.
At RRT we believe it’s our privilege to serve local communities and it’s been our pleasure to support Ayrshire Hospice.
