The Warrenpoint RRT Team were delighted to be involved in a RRT UK wide “Help For Homeless Box Appeal” which coincided with World Homeless Day 10th October 2015

With a very tight timescale a small team of core volunteers got in contact with friends and family to request donations of specified food stuff that could be packed into boxes which were designed to ensure that one person in need would be guaranteed a number of meals to keep them going through the days ahead.

Food was collected by the nominated volunteers, and over a number of days boxes were packed, labelled and loaded for delivery on Saturday 10th October.

Simon Community Homeless charity in Newry was picked as a suitable recipient of the boxes due to the work they carry out in the South Down area for the homeless community.

Boxes were delivered to their hostel and a delighted Marriane McCaul and her colleague, welcomed our donation with open arms!
