Well, you know the burgers are good when the same person comes through 3 times!

On an ironically rainy February day in Burnie, 14 RRT volunteers set out to support“Burnie’s Bit,” an initiative set on by a local councillor and the Salvation Army to raise funds to support the bush fire relief interstate.

The event was held at the Burnie Civic Centre between 3 pm and 8 pm, where about 1000 locals and several councillors attended to show their support. RRT served refreshments alongside numerous other organisations including CDH Espresso, the Rotary club and the Burnie Anglican Church. The event included musical entertainment, a koala coin trace, food stalls, markets and an auction, whereby local businesses donated items with all proceeds going towards the bush fire relief appeal.

Upon request by the Salvation Army, burgers were sold to attendees with 100% of profits donated. Serving approximately 100 signature burgers and cappuccinos, RRT raised over $500.

Overall, a great afternoon was had by all and it was excellent to see the local community rallying to support the event.
