The Papakura Rapid Relief Team (RRT) were pleased to be involved in raising funds for the local Conifer Grove School of which some of our community children attend.

The loss of speakers used daily for the public address system was a huge loss for the school. All of the outside loudspeakers have been stolen from various points around the school, with reports of teenagers attaching speakers to their bikes.

The community BBQ event was held at the local Bunnings on Easter Saturday – 26th March 2016. The event was a roaring success – serving sausages in bread, bacon and egg sandwiches, delicious cakes and Easter cupcakes as well as a range of hot and cold beverages to suit. Our team of 16 helpers, worked in shifts from 8am-3.30pm.

With the long Easter weekend, many were heading to get their supplies as they worked around their house. We were very grateful of the local community support in helping us raise funds for this worthy cause. And not to mention our star customer – All Black’s Charlie Faumuina. Thanks Charlie for your support!

RRT was pleased to help with raising a total of $1403 to cover the replacement cost of speakers of $1200. We enjoyed helping out at this event for the Conifer Grove School, and look forward to helping out at other community events in need.
