Local Horowhenua RRT volunteers provided their support for the Rotary Club who held a Rotary Youth Driver Awareness (RYDA) day for Year 11 students from colleges in the immediate area.

Colleges represented were Manawatu (Foxton), Waiopehu, Horowhenua (Levin) and Otaki colleges.

Students from various colleges around the Levin area lined up to be served a hot meal by RRT

Approximately 200 students attended the program, which is aimed at raising awareness of the risks and educating youth about road safety and driving skills, especially the environment in the car at a vulnerable time of their lives, when most will be thinking about driving or will be driven by their peers.

RRT was glad to get behind this initiative by providing food for all involved, over the two-day course, in support of this important section of our community and caring for those in need.
