RRT Provides Support to Kyneton Emergency Services During Open Day

Rapid Relief Team (RRT) volunteers were on hand to support emergency services personnel and volunteers at the inaugural Emergency Services Community Open Day in Kyneton on 5 September, helping keep event crews fuelled as they connected with the local community.

The family-friendly event brought together Kyneton CFA, Victoria Police, Woodend SES and Ambulance Victoria, providing locals with a unique opportunity to meet emergency services personnel and gain a behind-the-scenes look at emergency response operations.

Visitors enjoyed a range of activities, including guided station tours, CFA water and hose demonstrations, emergency vehicle displays, forensic fingerprinting, face painting and the chance to step inside the historic cell that once held Ned Kelly.

Kyneton Team Leader James Thomas said RRT provided practical support to the emergency services teams and volunteers running the event by serving meals throughout the day.

“Rapid Relief Team is honoured to support the emergency services organisations that work tirelessly to keep our communities safe,” Mr Thomas said.

“The Emergency Services Community Open Day was a fantastic opportunity for local families to meet the people behind the uniforms and learn more about their important work.

“Events like this help build stronger community connections and foster trust and understanding between emergency services and the people they support every day.”

As the charitable arm of the Plymouth Brethren faith, RRT was established in 2013 to assist emergency services during disasters and critical incidents through meal support and practical assistance. RRT has grown to more than 16,500 volunteers worldwide and continues to support communities through charitable donations, community initiatives and event catering.
