The day started early with the RRT volunteers on site at 5:00am to help with set-up. Throughout the day the team helped with various jobs such as parking, starting races, traffic control, route marshalling, setting up many tables to serve lunch, and refilling hydration stations. The day was in jeopardy from the start, as a severe thunderstorm swept through the area, but when the lightning struck and the thunder rolled, the team of volunteers remained calm and ready to help.

The riders were full of energy and in good spirits as they were cheered along by family, friends and volunteers as well as the RRT members. The support was huge with over 146 teams that made a total of 2,025 riders who raised over $870,000 for the cause!!

It turned out to be a hot and humid day and every hand was appreciated, especially during the big final clean-up! RRT concluded the day with helping pick up trash and take down signage and received words of praise from the ADA staff as they parted. Events like these are a fun and rewarding way for the RRT Volunteers to give back to their community!
