The Red Cross do an amazing job in many areas of the globe. The International Federation of Red Cross and Red Crescent Societies (IFRC) is the world’s largest humanitarian organization, providing assistance without discrimination as to nationality, race, religious beliefs, class or political opinions.

On Saturday, RRT Sweden’s volunteers headed out to the west coast to prepare a barbeque for the Red Cross event at their summer camp in Varberg.

About 50 kids were treated to a meal by RRT and it was amazing to see how much they enjoyed the event! “High fives to all at RRT, the best burgers I’ve ever eaten” was a comment that came from one contented and happy kid.

Coming from the city and in under-privileged circumstances, RRT Sweden were privileged and honoured to assist in giving them a time to remember. As one Red Cross staff member told us “It is overwhelming that you wanted to come here and support us. So good to have something new and different that helps us, we are very grateful.”

The event also saw the first time we used our new Piaggio Coffee Scooter, serving out quality barista coffees – an instant hit with everybody!

RRT sees it as a privilege to support the Red Cross and in some small way contribute to their vision and mission which is to; Inspire, encourage, facilitate and promote at all times all forms of humanitarian activities by National Societies, with a view to preventing and alleviating human suffering, and thereby contributing to the maintenance and promotion of human dignity and peace in the world.
