Rapid Relief Team is pleased to be supporting Tasmania Fire Service with dinner last night at the Huonville and Geeveston base camps. Fire conditions are very difficult across Tasmania with 12 active emergency warnings across the state.

RRT volunteers are eager to assist in bringing needed refreshments to the fire fighters, who are working heroically to protect lives and property.

Geeveston were very appreciative of the Rapid Relief Team’s support as the catering has been reliant on a few locals for the past 5 days and it has been a huge task. Locals will continuing to provide breakfast and lunches for them in the coming days.

As it’s too dangerous to go down and serve at Geeveston, all teams will come back to Huonville for meals tonight.

The Tasmanian Fire Service has had up to 15 aircraft battling the fires daily, with 8 in the air on duty today.
