AU – RAIN AT LAST! – CONDITIONS EASE AT GRAMPIANS/BLACK RANGE FIRES NEAR STAWELL
We are very thankful that 10mm of rain Thursday night 23rd Jan brought relief to the fire situation in the Grampians and Black Range area near Stawell.
Fires broke out in the area over a week ago due to lightning strikes, and the RRT spent from Friday afternoon until midday on Wednesday assisting a wide range of emergency personnel who were fighting the fires. The RRT set up in the local football clubrooms, and from the kitchen there served a whole range of meals and drinks to the hungry and weary crews.
