RRT was proud to stand beside hundreds of New Zealanders this year in support of the Motor Neurone Disease (MND) Foundation through the annual ‘Walk to Defeat MND’ events. Held in Wellington, Auckland, and Christchurch, these community events bring together families, friends, and supporters of those affected by MND to raise awareness and vital funds for research, advocacy, and support services.

Motor Neuron Disease is a progressive neurological condition that affects the nerves controlling voluntary muscles, ultimately impacting movement, speech, and breathing. The MND Foundation of New Zealand works tirelessly to support individuals and their families through care coordination, advocacy, and the push for improved treatment and understanding.

RRT was privileged to provide catering and refreshments at all three Walk to Defeat events, with a combined effort from 43 volunteers, contributing 135 hours onsite across Wellington, Auckland, and Christchurch.

RRT served a total of 350 signature beef burgers, along with cake and fruit salad, across all locations. To keep participants refreshed and energized, over 474 RRT water bottles were distributed, accompanied by soft drinks and coffee.

The Walk to Defeat MND is a powerful reminder of the strength of community and the impact of collective action. RRT is honoured to support such a meaningful cause and help create a warm, welcoming environment where participants can reflect, remember, and rally for a cure.

We look forward to continuing our support of the MND Foundation and their mission to improve the lives of those affected by Motor Neuron Disease.
