RRT Volunteers Cook Up Support for Great Western Hospital!
The Rapid Relief Team (RRT) Volunteers from Swindon have been busy supporting the Great Western Hospital by cooking up 225 Burger meals in Wiltshire.
The Great Western Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust provides healthcare services in Swindon and the surrounding area. The hospital has secured £26.3million of Government funding to progress an exciting urgent and emergency care expansion. The urgent and emergency care expansion is the largest investment in the hospital site, following the 2022 opening of the urgent treatment and radiotherapy centers. It will support new working methods, scale the organsation for Swindon and Wiltshire’s growing population, improve patient flow and increase bed capacity to manage rising demand.
Rapid Relief Team (RRT), on behalf of The Grace Trust who donated £5,000, presented a cheque to the hospital’s new emergency department. RRT is thrilled to support Great Western Hospital and its staff by providing meals on the day and ensuring the center is equipped with essential clinical equipment. RRT aims to give back to the hardworking emergency services that constantly help the community.
Catherine Weaver, the associate director of charitable funds and voluntary services here at the Great Western Hospital expressed her gratitude by saying, “We’ve had a great partnership with them. The team have been supporting our emergency department, with ambulance packs, for our amazing emergency teams. They’ve also provided food and refreshments for our emergency colleagues. And also on meeting day when all the staff come here, they’re gonna be providing them with meals on the day just to make the day that a little bit more special, and they feel just so well looked after. So we’re hugely grateful for their support.”
