RRT Launches Nationwide A&E Appreciation Week
Last week, the Rapid Relief Team (RRT) launched the UK’s first-ever A&E Appreciation Week—a nationwide initiative to recognise the tireless efforts of emergency department staff who work around the clock to keep our communities safe.
Between 13th and 17th October 2025, RRT volunteers visited 93 hospitals, hosting 115 welfare events that served over 10,000 coffees and cakes to hardworking A&E teams. These simple acts of kindness offered frontline staff a moment to pause, recharge, and feel truly appreciated for their vital work.
RRT is now calling for A&E Appreciation Week to be formally recognised every year, ensuring emergency staff receive the national gratitude and recognition they deserve.
Working closely with NHS teams and hospital leaders, RRT ensured each event fit seamlessly into the busy schedule of A&E departments—providing meaningful support without disrupting critical care.
“Through A&E Appreciation Week, we wanted to give something back – even in a small way – to show our gratitude and remind them that their work doesn’t go unnoticed."
Ross Norman
RRT Head of Operations UK.
To every A&E professional who shows courage, kindness, and commitment every day: thank you. You are truly appreciated.
