RRT Joins Forces for Major Incident Drill
On January 14th, emergency services staff from Avon & Somerset Police conducted a major incident training exercise. Volunteers from the Rapid Relief Team (RRT) in Taunton provided 400 freshly prepared burger meals to staff and participants during the event, ensuring everyone had the sustenance needed to complete the day’s activities.
This collaboration supported the training exercise, helping create a practical and supportive environment for all involved.
Avon and Somerset Police serve the communities of Bristol, Bath, Somerset, and South Gloucestershire with a mission to keep people safe and prevent crime. They focus on fostering trust and collaboration with residents and building meaningful connections to address community challenges effectively.
The major incident exercise occurred in Minehead, Somerset, England, involving approximately 400 emergency service participants. This training aimed to test staff responses, refine plans, and ensure readiness for potential major incidents.
The exercise provided an invaluable opportunity for collaboration between various organisations and services, helping to establish clear processes and plans. RRT is committed to acknowledging emergency services’ dedication and hard work.
Thank you to our Taunton volunteers for their time and support in serving the emergency services, which play a vital role in the community.
