RRT Doncaster Supports Doncaster Sheffield Airport Reopening

Posted: September 12, 2025

On 9 September 2025, the RRT Doncaster were honoured to play a supporting role in a landmark moment for South Yorkshire—the announcement of the reopening of Doncaster Sheffield Airport (DSA). The event marked a major step forward for the region, with the South Yorkshire Mayoral Combined Authority approving a £160 million investment to bring the airport back to life. Our volunteers were on the ground, offering complimentary coffee, donuts, and event furniture to help make the day run smoothly. From regional leaders to campaigners and community members, the atmosphere was one of celebration and optimism for the future of aviation and economic growth in the area.

“This was a huge milestone for the region, and we were honoured to assist. Our team was there to serve and support the community during this exciting event.”

Team Leader

Rod Paterson

The reopening of DSA is expected to create thousands of jobs and drive long-term development across South Yorkshire. For RRT, being part of this transformation was more than just logistics—it was about standing alongside the community at a time of progress and hope.
