RRT Chester Supports Wirral Hospice
On January 18th, Wirral Hospice held its annual ‘Christmas Tree Collection’ fundraiser, inviting Wirral residents and businesses to register online for the collection of their real Christmas trees.
Proceeds from the event support Wirral Hospice St John’s, a compassionate organisation dedicated to caring for individuals with life-limiting conditions and their families. The hospice provides a wide range of tailored services, including an inpatient ward offering specialised medical and nursing care, outpatient therapies, and a wellbeing centre for day patients. Their Hospice at Home service delivers care in the comfort of patients’ homes, while patient and family support services offer holistic assistance to help families navigate challenging times. Every aspect of their work prioritises dignity, comfort, and quality of life.
Volunteers from the Rapid Relief Team (RRT) Chester supported the event by preparing 75 bacon butty breakfasts and packed lunches, ensuring all volunteers were well-fed throughout the day. The event serves as both a vital fundraiser for Wirral Hospice St John’s and an important step towards sustainability, with collected trees responsibly recycled and chipped.
