RRT and GCM Join Forces for World Homeless Day
On October 9th, Rapid Relief Team (RRT) Gloucester volunteers collaborated with Gloucester City Mission for their meal event.
Gloucester City Mission (GCM) is a charity committed to supporting individuals who are homeless, living in temporary accommodation, or “sofa surfing,” as well as those in need of daily essentials like clothing, toiletries, food, and crucial guidance. The charity’s mission is to provide hope, day shelter, food, and drinks to the broader community, especially those homeless or marginalised. GCM relies entirely on donations to provide vital support during these challenging times.
Gloucester City Mission (GCM) contacted the Rapid Relief Team (RRT) to provide hot meals for 60 homeless and underprivileged individuals. RRT was honoured to support this mission, having contributed to it for many years and continuing to do so.
The event was successful, with attendees eagerly lining up for sausage meals and refreshments. RRT volunteers served meals to all 60 participants, reflecting the shared commitment to compassion between RRT and GCM. A special thanks to our dedicated volunteers, who worked tirelessly to prepare and serve meals, embodying the spirit of compassion that drives both organisations.
This event has been an integral part of our ongoing support for the World Homeless Day campaign, and we look forward to continuing our partnership with GCM in the future.
