Burgers at the seaside – RRT Aldeburgh support the RNLI

On Saturday 24th August, Aldeburgh RNLI held its annual open day at the lifeboat station on the beach. The aim of the event was to increase awareness of the amazing work of the RNLI and also to raise much-needed funds so they can continue the excellent service they provide.

RRT Aldeburgh was privileged to lend a hand on the day, serving around 250 meals and raising well over £600 in donations for the RNLI – very gratefully received by the local coxswain and lifeboat team.

The RNLI charity saves lives at sea. Its volunteers provide a 24-hour search and rescue service around the United Kingdom and Republic of Ireland coasts. The RNLI operates over 238 lifeboat stations in the UK and Ireland and more than 240 lifeguard units on beaches around the UK and Channel Islands. The RNLI is independent of Coastguard and government and depends on voluntary donations and legacies to maintain its rescue service. Since the RNLI was founded in 1824, its lifeboat crews and lifeguards have saved over 142,700 lives.
