Pivot House St Neots – Harmony Fire Food Box Packing Event
RRT has partnered with Harmony Fire, a fire safety business, to pack up 4,000 Food Boxes, equivalent to 48,000 meals, at the RRT’s headquarters in St Neots.
With the latest statistics showing that 7.2 million people, or 11% of the UK population, live in households experiencing food poverty, the RRT and Harmony Fire have united to provide critical support to families struggling to put food on the table. Harmony Fire donated the funding to cover the cost of the Food Boxes, underscoring its commitment to tackling food insecurity across the country.
The charity’s Food Boxes provide emergency food support and contain a wide selection of non-perishable goods, such as pasta and rice and cereal bars, with each box containing enough food for 12 nutritious meals.
Employees from the company joined RRT volunteers to assemble the boxes during a packed day at the charity’s headquarters in St Neots. Once packed, the Food Boxes will be distributed to a wide range of partner organisations across the UK, including local food banks, community centres, and charities, ensuring they reach those most in need.
The RRT, which is made up of volunteers from the Plymouth Brethren Christian Church, offers practical support to charities, emergency services and other organisations supporting those in need and has been operating in its St Neots headquarters since 2023. The space provides a base for the charity to coordinate its national operations, store essential supplies, and train volunteers.
