Kilmarnock Fire Station: Uniting community through food and fun!
On Saturday 6th July, Kilmarnock Community Fire Station hosted a summer open day with the support of the local Rapid Relief Team (RRT) with all emergency services present to showcase their capabilities and interact with the public.
The Rapid Relief Team (RRT) Kilmarnock, served nearly 1,000 burgers and hot-dog meals to attendees while community groups entertained with performances from the ‘Rock Choir’, dance routines, and a ‘Best Character Costume’ competition. Martin Spence, Station Commander and Leroy Shaw, Crew Commander, expressed gratitude to RRT for their on going support to the community events and their responsive assistance in emergency situations.
The event was a success, providing a platform for people to come together, share a meal, interact with the emergency services and have fun in a supportive and inclusive environment. This demonstrated the values of RRT in supporting and strengthening communities showing that by working together and supporting each other, we can build a strong and resilient community.
