RRT Supports Emergency Services During Major Training Exercise in Norwich
RRT supported emergency service crews from Anglian Water and Norfolk Fire and Rescue this week during a complex training exercise in Norwich.
On Tuesday 7th April, RRT Norwich supported a multi‑agency training exercise at Anglian Water’s Waterworks Road site. The scenario simulated a serious incident involving Anglian Water staff, with one person trapped and others affected by chlorine exposure. The exercise focused on testing emergency response procedures and coordination between Anglian Water and fire service teams.
To support the exercise, RRT volunteers served 65 freshly prepared bacon and sausage baps, providing much-needed refreshments for crews as they carried out the demanding scenario.
The welfare support formed part of RRT’s ongoing commitment to standing alongside emergency services, offering practical care during challenging and high-pressure situations. By providing food on site, volunteers helped crews take a short pause, refuel and continue the exercise safely and effectively.
“These training exercises are vital in preparing emergency services for real-life incidents, and we were pleased to be there to support the crews taking part. Providing something as simple as a hot bap can make a real difference during long and demanding scenarios, and it’s our way of showing appreciation for the vital work they do to keep communities safe."
