Aldeburgh Community Comes Together for Town Litter Pick
Residents of Aldeburgh turned out in force on Saturday 4th July to help keep their coastal town clean and welcoming, with a community litter pick collecting around 20 sacks of rubbish from streets and open spaces across the town.
Around 15 volunteers took part, made up of local residents and members of the Rapid Relief Team (RRT), working together throughout the morning to tidy the areas that make Aldeburgh such a well-loved place to live and visit. The effort was warmly received by the town, with Aldeburgh Town Council and the Mayor expressing their gratitude for everyone who gave their time.
RRT Aldeburgh volunteers joined the litter pick and, once the sacks were filled, served burger meals to all those who had taken part, a chance for neighbours to sit down together and round off the morning’s work.
“It was great to see residents and RRT volunteers side by side, filling sack after sack with litter. Aldeburgh is a town that takes real pleasure in its surroundings, and the turnout on Saturday showed exactly that. Serving a burger meal to everyone afterwards was a small way of saying thank you to those who gave up their Saturday morning.”
