RRT’s June in 60-Seconds

Posted: July 3, 2026

This June, alongside the heat, communities rallied around to support each other — and our volunteers were delighted to be part of it, serving 18,000 meals throughout the month.

At Queensgate Shopping Centre, the alarm sounded. Flames rose from a simulated electric vehicle, fire and police teams from Cambridgeshire and Lincolnshire moved fast, sharpening the response that keeps us all safer.

Further north, Operation Nightpine brought fire, police and ambulance teams from across Norfolk together at the College of West Anglia — training side by side, preparing for whatever the next call might bring.

As temperatures soared in Bristol, the call came in from Bristol City Council. Our volunteers answered, handing out over 2,000 bottles of chilled water at Temple Meads to keep people safe in the heat.

Then, on the 19th of June, an ordinary day changed in an instant. A rail collision near Bedford brought an extensive response — and through the long night that followed, our volunteers were there for passengers and emergency teams alike.

That’s June. See you next time.
