RRT’s January in 60-Seconds

Posted: February 6, 2026

Hello and welcome to the 60‑second update for January, the first month of 2026 where RRT volunteers supported 25 events serving 3,155 meals

Starting off in Guildford, where Hampshire Search & Rescue carried out a  search for a missing person at Fleet Pond. RRT volunteers were honoured to provide warm burger meals as teams showed incredible commitment thoughout the day.

In Bournemouth, Dorset Police led a large counter‑terrorism exercise involving fire, ambulance, coastguard and military teams. These rehearsals aim to strengthen preparedness for real emergencies. RRT kept personnel fuelled with 1,200 bacon rolls.

Across Exmouth and Plymouth, emergency services worked through the night during the unexploded bomb incident, supporting residents and ensuring public safety. RRT volunteers deployed serving hot meals through the night, followed by breakfast and lunch as the response continued.

And in Chester, Cheshire Fire & Rescue welcomed partners to their Operations Awareness Day. RRT Volunteers served 125 burger meals to attendees to demonstrate our equipment in action.

That’s it for this month — see you next time.
