Helping break the stigma around mental health.

2 Suicides
Every working day in the construction industry

Construction Community Connect

A coffee and a conversation could save a life.

Construction can be physically demanding, fast-paced, and often isolating. But the heaviest burden many workers carry isn’t in their hands, it’s in their minds.

In the UK, two construction workers take their own lives every single day. It’s a heartbreaking reality that demands action.

That’s why RRT launched Construction, Community, Connect, a project aimed at dispelling the stigma and bringing mental health awareness directly to construction sites.

In partnership with leading mental health charities like Andy’s Man Club and Mates in Mind, we’re creating space for real conversations in the places they’re needed most.

What Happens at Our Events
We show up to stand-up talks with free coffee and doughnuts and a team of volunteers, but it’s not just about the refreshments. It’s about creating a moment to pause, connect, and talk openly about mental health.

These events are designed to:

  • Break the stigma around mental health in construction.
  • Connect construction workers with professional support.

Why It Matters
The numbers speak for themselves:

  • Construction workers are 3.7 times more likely to die by suicide than the national average.
  • 56% work in organisations with no mental health policy.
  • Thousands of workers feel they have no one to turn to.

If you’ve got a mental health talk or event planned on site, we’d be glad tojoin you—just fill in the form below to let us know, and we’ll be in touch tosupport with coffee, doughnuts, and a smile.
