On August 15th 2015 JDRF hosted its One Walk at Lewis & Clark Landing in Omaha Nebraska. The One Walk is a fundraising event to communicate the focus on a single goal: Creating a world without Type 1 Diabetes (T1D). Each year, JDRF Walks bring together more than 900,000 people and the event  raises over $68 million for life-changing T1D research.

The event started with an 8:00am. Check-In and the One Walk started at 9:00 a.m. with a 2 mile walk and a 3rd mile option. Involvement from the public was outstanding and motivating! Grandparents, parents and children were all involved and full of smiles moving to one goal, to create a world without T1D.

It was a beautiful day with temperatures in the mid 80’s and sunshine, everyone was enjoying their walk. Water stations & food tents were set up for the walkers and were occupied with volunteers including 37 RRT personnel from Omaha and Council Bluffs who were there from start to finish from 5:00am-1:00pm helping with set up and removal of items for the event.
