The Jane Tomlinson foundation is a fantastic charity that organises events across the country encouraging young people to participate in giving back to the community in which they live and helping raise money.  The event in Leeds on the 11th July 15 was no exception.

In partnership with the Arena Group an exciting run was organised for children between the ages of 3 and 8 to run 1.5km, and those between 9 and 14 to complete a 2.5km.  Over 1000 participants gathered in the Royal Armouries grand square to take part in the event, each one either raising money for the Leeds based Sunshine and Smiles charity (the event’s partner charity) or a good cause of their own choice.

Race organisers contacted RRT whilst planning the event and asked if they could provide marshalling and ‘event village’ support.  A group of 40 volunteers helped the event co-ordinators in everything from race set up through to distributing water and goodie bags and helping clear up the site afterwards.
