RRT volunteers from Wagga Wagga pitched in with fellow members of the Riverina community in support of young Junee local, Molly Halliburton. RRT feels delighted to contribute all proceeds from the event to Molly’s fight with leukaemia and support the worthy cause.

The local community banded together, organising a special fundraising event “Magic for Molly” at Junee’s Laurie Daley Oval on Saturday, 6 March 2021.

RRT was glad to keep the community fed and hydrated, selling thousands of food and beverages on the day with all proceeds going to the worthy cause. Th team had also created special QR codes for donations.

Wagga Wagga Local Team  Leader, Rohan Lindqvist, said the RRT was grateful to support the event in our small way.

“The thing that makes the Riverina so special is no matter the town, we always band together to support one of our own in a time of crisis,” he said.

Just over eight months ago, the beautiful four-year-old Molly was at preschool complaining of a sore ankle and despite sounding harmless enough, a trip to the doctor discovered cancer.

Now the family’s life is on hold, moving to Sydney to help Molly through treatment, which is why money must be raised to support the family’s costly relocation and medical expenses.

The community event included a charity auction, touch football competition, live music and activities for kids.
