The Rapid Relief Team were again actively involved in providing food and cheer for those in need at the Ozanam Community Centre. With a team of ten energetic volunteers the RRT provided 180 burgers and 20 kg of chips in a three-hour operation.

The customers clearly appreciated both the steaming hot food and the cold beverages. The RRT trailer included an excellent BBQ on the rear of the trailer that allowed for large volumes of meat patties to be cooked in a short space of time meaning the food was fresh, clearly very appetizing and put a smile on many weary faces.

The Ozanam Community Centre is based in North Melbourne and is a state wide service that provides support to men and women who are at risk of homelessness, homeless and/or marginalised. The centre facilitates engagement with a wide range of services aiming to generate stable and sustainable living, autonomy, well-being and community contentedness.

RRT were glad to be of some assistance and appreciated the warm smiles and thank yous from many of those being served.
