RRT Thanks Tamworth Hospital Workers with 1,000 Burgers and Smiles

The Rapid Relief Team (RRT) has served up more than 1,000 burgers at an appreciation lunch at Tamworth Hospital, recognising the dedication and hard work of healthcare workers.

RRT volunteers held a barbeque at the hospital to give staff a chance to enjoy a free meal with their colleagues.

Local Team Leader Scott McDonald said RRT’s Thank You Lunch at Tamworth Hospital has become an annual tradition.

“The hard-working staff at Tamworth Hospital do so much to take care of the community, and this Thank You Lunch is all about showing our appreciation,” said Scott.

“Our volunteers get a kick out of serving up a delicious free lunch along with a smile, as a way of saying, ‘we are so grateful for all you do’.

“It was a fantastic day for both RRT and staff at Tamworth Hospital – and we look forward to the next one!”

The initiative reflects RRT’s ongoing commitment to supporting those who care for others.

As the charitable arm of the Plymouth Brethren Christian Church, RRT supports frontline workers and emergency services by providing food, donations and other resources, as well as hosting events for the community. These efforts reflect the Plymouth Brethren values, which emphasise service, generosity and caring for communities through practical action.

Established in 2013 to assist emergency services in times of disaster and crisis by providing meals and other support, it’s expanded to more than 16,500 volunteers and provides support to the community through charitable donations and events.
