RRT Supports Broadlawns FOCUS Program
RRT recently helped support a day of smiles and celebration for Broadlawns Medical Center summer Sports Carnival at the Des Moines Public Schools’ Kurtz Opportunity Center. Thirteen volunteers hailing from across Des Moines served 109 signature BBQ Burger Meals to students, parents, and staff at the educational center for children with special needs.
The opportunity to support the Broadlawns FOCUS Program arose when a teacher witnessed RRT’s work at the Presentation & Lunch at the Joint Chiefs Meeting Emergency Management Agency in December 2023. The Center, which supports youth with mental and learning disabilities, then partnered with RRT to help support this special summer Sports Carnival.
