Rapid Relief Team serves 330 meals at Seattle-Tacoma International Airport, January 29

Despite the end of the government shutdown, the Rapid Relief Team has continued to conduct their National Campaign to provide free meals to Federal Transport Security Administration (TSA) employees, all across the United States. On Tuesday, January 29th, RRT provided 330 meals to TSA Agents and other Federal employees at the Seattle-Tacoma International Airport (SEA).
The news of the government shutdown ending was a welcome relief – however, it is our understanding it could be up to a week before these workers will receive their pay. While workers wait for their paychecks to arrive, RRT will continue to provide thousands of hot meals to TSA employees at more than twenty-five major airports across the country. The meals are a modest gesture to show our support for those who are working without pay – at least they don’t have to worry about lunch.
The Rapid Relief Team is in this for the long haul and will continue to provide meals to furloughed employees wherever possible in close consultation with TSA officials. RRT understands a meal isn’t going to solve the current situation but want our small contribution to reflect the ongoing gratitude for the hard work and service they continue to provide during this stressful time. We want the TSA agents to know that Americans stand with Americans – and that they are not going through this tough time alone.
Every day in some small way, RRT volunteers offer a helping hand to those in need. For more information about the Rapid Relief Team TSA Campaign, go to https://us.rrtglobal.org/news/.
