At about 3:30pm on Saturday, July 1st, the RRT food-prep trailer rolled up to the Larry J Wilwant Community Center, in Pembina, ND.  Eighteen willing RRT Volunteers arrived on the scene shortly after and the work began! Tables and chairs were set up awaiting hungry town folk, veggies were sliced and diced for serving, and the grills were started for cooking. By 5:00 pm, the smell of cooking food was drawing a crowd. Delicious burgers and brats were coming off the grills and people were lining up to buy a meal. The event was underway and everyone was busy serving the hungry folks of Pembina!

Grilling the Burgers and Brats

All proceeds from this event were to benefit the Pembina Emergency Medical Services and Pembina Volunteer Fire Department.  Both services rely on dedicated volunteer members and funding is always a challenge.  Extra funds are always appreciated to provide the latest technology for members to do their job better in emergency situations.  These two services are vital to the prosperity of this small rural community near the Canadian border and the surrounding area including the US Customs and Border Protection Port of Entry at Pembina.
